How long does microblading last?

Microblading, combo and powder brows typically last 1–3 years. Your skin and sun exposure affect that timeline. Here are my answers to the questions I want you to feel comfortable asking — from your first week of healing to your next color refresh.

How long does microblading last?

Microblading typically lasts 1–3 years, depending on your skin type and sun exposure. Combo and powder brows also typically last 1–3 years. I look at how your brows have healed and faded rather than promising the same timeline for everyone. Here in Wellington FL, protecting your healed brows from the sun is an important part of keeping the color looking its best.

What affects how long it lasts?

Your skin type, sun exposure and aftercare all make a difference. Oily skin can soften hair strokes and lead to faster fading; powder brows may be a better fit for that skin type. Frequent sun exposure and exfoliating skincare near the brows can also shorten the life of your color. At your consultation, I’ll help you choose a technique that makes sense for your skin and daily routine.

Do I need a touch-up?

Yes. Your first touch-up is required at 6–8 weeks after the initial session and costs $100, separately from the initial price. It is not included. Once the skin has healed, I can assess color retention and refine areas that healed lighter. Later color refreshes are separate appointments; the timing and prices are listed below.

What does aftercare involve?

I’ll give you written aftercare instructions and review them with you before you leave. Keep your healing brows dry as directed, use only the aftercare balm as instructed, and don’t pick or scratch flaking skin. For the first 10–14 days, avoid direct sun, swimming in pools or salt water, heavy sweating, saunas and makeup or exfoliating products around the brows. Follow your individual instructions if they differ from general advice, and reach out if you’re unsure about anything.

When will my brows look healed?

Initial healing usually takes about 7–10 days. Brows can look darker at first, then flake and soften as they heal; don’t judge the final color during those early changes. Full healing takes about 6–8 weeks, which is why we wait until then for your required touch-up. The day-by-day healing guide explains these stages in more detail.

How can I help my brows last longer?

Once your brows are fully healed, daily SPF and limiting direct sun exposure help protect the pigment. Keep retinol and exfoliating acids away from the brow area, and follow the aftercare plan rather than adding extra products. If you notice fading, send me a message so we can decide whether a refresh makes sense for your brows.

How much do later brow refreshes cost?

After the required $100 touch-up at 6–8 weeks, refresh pricing is $150 at 12 weeks–6 months; $200 at 6 months–1 year; $300 for microblading or $350 for combo/powder at 1–2 years; and $400–$450 at 2–3 years. At 4–5 years, full price applies. Initial microblading is $600, and combo or powder brows are $650. If you fall between the listed bands, contact me for confirmation rather than assuming a price.
